Hi, enjoy supper? What'd you have, beef? chicken? How many innocent potatoes died to make you dinner? HUH???!!! As a practicing omnivore (and I will eat damned near anything) in an increasingly liberal society, I find myself disturbed by an increasing trend in our views of morality. Namely that rather than basing moral values on an established system of right or wrong, we tend to follow whichever new morality fits into our lives the most asthetically. This is an article on how that rules o...

Well, except for you.....but you're the exception and you knew the title was a trick.......right. But since you're here, sit. Read, enjoy yourself......... Thank you for falling prey to my points whoring, because while I do very well with articles about zombie deer, fishing for squirrels, and political commentary, this is both about my running, and my pneumonia, either of which is apparantly about as popular as my article on dressage (horse ballet)......which you notice I very purposefully...

Muhahahaha!!!! I've finally got some energy back, and am feeling right for the first time in about two weeks. Still technically got the pneumonia, still a little weak, but feeling good (and full of yummy nachos and tilapia.) Therefore, I've decided to listen to one doctor (and not another) and very, very cautiously try running a mile or two tommorow slowly. It's maybe a little early, but one follow up doc said I'd probably be alright to run a little, carefully by the end of this week, an...

Hooray, I went back to work today! I felt kind of weak still, and I get tired easy, but otherwise feeling pretty good. It was also good to see a lot of people who were glad to see me back and doing well. Except......... Except there were some people who were afraid. Among other things, a couple wouldn't even let me get nearer than seven or eight feet. I guess they'd catch the deadly plague and their heads would fall off or something........sigh. They were polite, and I understand, but it s...

I was just reading a funny story by our very own hunter of lobster, Link when I was reminded of my first apartment after I got married in college, almost nine years ago...... This was a 200 dollar a month wonder in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. While that's not as bad as it sounds (you could get a fairly nice apartment there at the time for 300/350,) this was not prime real estate. It wasn't in the slums or anything, (this town couldn't have supported a slum) but it was the best we could afford ...

There's an old Johnny Cash album I like from Carnegie hall back in the 60's. At one point he talks on it about visiting Vietnam with his wife and giving concerts for the wounded. Some reporters asked him if that didn't make him a hawk. His reply was no, he wasn't a hawk, but he might just be a dove with claws. I'm not much of a war hawk. I don't really care about Iraq, or Korea, or oil, or WMDs. But I also don't believe in being an ostritch. Trouble doesn't go away if you turn away and hid...

Over the last year, I have listened to a lot of argument over the war in Iraq, why we're there, who's to blame, if blame is to be assigned, et cetera ad nauseum. I left a reply to one of these arguments in Col Gene's blog today, Link and damn it, I liked it so much, I decided to make it into an article. As a member of the military, and the intelligence community, I would like to take personal blame for the war in Iraq. Not only did I personally feed misinformation to the president, C...
