In case you didn't guess from the title, my new bass amp is here. Picked it up from some music discount place new for a 100 bucks. What's that you say? What kind of lousy amp can you get for a $100? Apparently a sixty watt AXL (don't ask me, I have no idea who they are) with a serious buzzing problem in the screen over the cones whenever you play an A. Not to worry, I have the solution. Took the screen off, put some friction tape over the inside edge where it doesn't even show, and put it ...
So, what gets you up out of bed in the morning? Love your job? Gotta make the rent? Just wanna get away from the house for a few hours? For me, it's the exhilirating knowledge that if I fail to go to work today, I can lose a months pay, and spend a couple of months in trouble.....if I'm lucky. On the other hand, being a super secret squirrel MI geek and whatnot (shhh....don't tell anyone), AWOL can lead straight to jail. Wheeee!!!!!! And that's the bright and shining truth that gets me to...

I haven't been updating nearly enough this last week or two, so here's just a few of the things that are evil upon this earth. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! 1. Kimchi. I love it, but what it does to a white man's bowels is just plain wrong........... 2. My recruiter. 3. Walmart. 4. My recruiter's recruiter. 5. Kimchi farts. See evil #1. 6. The recruiter who recruited my recruiter's recruiter and started the whole chain of evil............. 7. Spam 8. Houston, and possibly...

Bleh........one of the worse lingering side effects from my pneumonia? Renewal of my caffeine addiction. It's not bad as a vice goes, but I'd given it up largely for my running, my weight, and more importantly to me, because it was an addiction. I've been seriously hooked since I was two. Dr. Pepper was the drug of choice, but I've often got my fix from tea, coffee, chocolate, what have you. At times, up to 3/4s of my caloric intake consisted of Dr. Pepper. A twelve pack a day was an absol...

My wife is taking a few courses right now, and as a musical history project, was assigned a presentation on Gershwin. As part of her presentation, to show the extremely heavy jazz influences on, and the versatility of their more serious, classical music (natch, after all, they were a couple of jazz musicians out of Tin Pan Alley), she played some of the music they wrote, Porgy and Bess, Rhapsody in Blue (quite possibly my favorite classical piece), as performed by different composers. P...

A simple points whoring question that probably won't earn me any points, what scare the piss out of you? Bugs? Monsters under the bed? John Kerry in '08? For me, it's red paper wasps, and George Romero type zombies. That girl with the broken neck climbing down the stairs in The Grudge made me jump, but doesn't scare me near as bad as a wasps nest. If you want to get philisophical or political in your answer that's fine, but I'm looking for primal type fears, here. What turns your h...

I originally wrote this here, Link as a reply all the excess drama over Bush and Cheney saving money as a result of their tax cuts. However, largely because of length, (and laziness), I decided to delete my reply and repost it here instead. Apparently the far (and I do mean far) side of the left seems to think that this was implemented by Bush to save himself a (to him) insignificant amount of money, at the cost of devestating the poor and middle class. Well, I feel devestated, don't y...
Or welcome to my blog after the joys of defensive driving videos. Even as we speak, I'm waiting for the @#$%ing built in break to be up so I can take another one of the exams. My recommendation? Take the real classes. About 3 months ago I got a ticket driving on post. Just one ticket. (I haven't had one in 10 years before coming here, and it's not because I was just lucky.) The back part of post. On the way to work at 4:30 a.m. And therefore lost onpost driving privelleges for 90 days. Woo...
