Hello boys and girls, here's sending you DVR dreams and iPodelicious wishes. Finding the life electronic overwhelming? I'm thinking of starting a neo-Luddite movement. That's right, down with technology! So first steps first, let me put it out on my blog, tweet my friends, and oh yeah, gotta facebook that sucker....damn. When was the last time you turned it all off? Tried living without the boob tube for a week? Put down, GASP!!!! the cell phone?! Clearly, as I'm blogging this, I may myself h...

I was listening to NPR this morning, and I once again heard the inevitable discussion of the withdrawal of combat troops in Iraq. Surprisingly enough (did you know that sarcasm comes from the greek, sarkasmos, the biting of ones lips in anger?) the interviewer suggested that the best we could do in the war was to withdraw our troops with a modicum of dignity. However, having listened to a former Great talk about "peace with honor", (and no, really, he is not a crook!), I know that i...

So, here's a weird bit. My kid's almost three months now, and a little fussy (he's got four teeth coming in). So guess what puts him out. Mozart? Brahms lullaby? Paris Hilton's career? Nah-ah. This one's metal. I don't know if I listened to too much while he was in the womb, or what, but when I can't get Justin to calm down any other way, I pop in some Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphies and he's out like a light. Til the end of the album anyways. He does okay with classic metal,...

And on that note....Why not open with a joke, after all, it's been awhile... This guy goes to see his doc for his over forty physical. He does all the usual tests, bloodwork, bends over, turns his head and coughs etc, and his doctor tells him to come back in two weeks. Two weeks go by and when he comes in, his doc tells him "I've got good news, and bad news." The guy looks at him and says, Well, what's the good news?" "The good news is, your cock's about to get two inches longer and one in...

Not many I started with left, but....if any of you are still lurking around the edges and you're wondering, I'm out of the Army now and living in Bama........sigh. Yeah, I know. Don't ask. Been busy, got out of the Army, moved across the country into a house that was completely trashed. Neglectful tenants plus owners that had watched too many flip your house type shows equals nightmare. Been busy moving, then drywall, electric, plumbing, snaking out sewer lines, paint, taking up carpet, redoi...

The more I look at the complexity of the modern world, the more amazing I find that things hold together as much as they do. To me, it is not so surprising that the world economy could take a "sudden turn", and through a series of foolish choices, and lack of oversight take a serious fall into the shitter, but that it does not occur more often, and with greater consequence. My vision of a post-apocalyptic world is not so much a nuclear holocaust, or devestation wreaked by pollution,...
