Just picked up a copy of My War today. I got turned onto Colby Buzzell by psuedosoldier about idunno, six months ago? Oy. This is what I get for being too happy earlier. So I go to pick up my tranny jack today. Hmmm. I go to the parts house, whoops missed my turn, u-turn, go back.....shit, the road's blocked off. I do some fancy maneuvering, and..........closed for lunch. Huh? At 2:00 in the afternoon? No to be deterred, so I hop back into the wife's neon......hmmm I'm hearing grinding when I brake. No problem, except everything from Waco, (1.5 hours to the northeast) to damned near Round Rock (1 hour southeast) is the same code. Some is long distance, some local. So today I dial a number, not knowing it's local. "We're sorry, but you do not have to dial 254 when dialing this number. Please hang up the phone and try again." WTF?
