Another update.....someday soon I'll get a decent blog in, but today I've still gotta run and get three hours of practice in. Life is groovy. The money floweth in. Got my AER loan, got part of my back pay as casual pay, and finally got my advance. And after I pay off all the back bills that have built up, that'll leave like at least twenty bucks. (which is my way of telling you I took out the money we talked about, dear) Regular pay has yet to start, but I'm assured it will begin short...

Here I am at last in beautiful, scenic Norfolk at Little Creek Amphibious Base. Woot! I'm tired and sore but here. And I've use the Gideon approach to blogging to solve the no computer problem. Run for state representative, and blog at the library. Life here is peaches and cream, but I got totally snafued by Dallas MEPS. My orders were all of about two lines long, and I got sent to Ft. Eustis, 40 miles away, and not even assigned to a unit. Heh. After valiant striving by the staff duty of ...

Here ya go, a whiny rant. ARRRRRRRRGHHHHH!!!!!! I've worked so hard to keep my blog sitting comfortably at number 11!!!!! (Which thanks to Spinal Tap, holds special meaning for me.........) And now as I go off to "band camp." (Did yours have drill sergeants?) I know.......I know, my points are going to slip away again. Between not having a computer of my own there, and eating, breathing, and sleeping in a practice room I'll ne'er blog again.........sigh. I can almost feel my skin getting p...

Another damned packing list. Let's see, two murderers, two commiters of fornication, two pagans condemned to limbo.......... Too much dante? I'm getting ready to go back to AIT again, and after a great deal of waffling, MEPS decided I would not be driving, but would in fact be flying. Therefore I get to pack one duffel bag, and a very small carry-on. Woot. Doing the prior service thing, so I should get to wear civies some, and get a reissue of all my army gear, but I don't trust it...

We know everything about you. Your phone number, your drivers license, your bank account, credit card number, home address. We know if you're married, how many cars you have, if you're cheating on your wife, hitting your kids, doing drugs. We know that. We know where you work. We know when you're home, and when you're away. Are we some super secret national security agency? Hell no, Homeland Security's got nothing on us. We deliver your pizza, and we know where you live. Plus they don't g...

I found my clarinet. I walked into a pawn shop yesterday and there it was. It glowed with a light from heaven and called my name. Wow. Not bad for seventy-five dollars. It's an old Carl Fischer (am I spelling that right?) wooden B-flat. Very nice. The cork's actually in great shape and the pads? Meh.........they could stand to be redone. Plus a couple of the springs need a little adjusting. It cleaned up and polished beautifully though. It also has a nice tone when not acted upon by user ...

Well, it's that time again. Time to pull out the grand ideals and lie yourself silly. As if you really believed yourself anyways. Let's see how I fared on last years resolutions. 1. Eat out no more than once a week. Ennnnh. Thank you for playing. Care to try again next year? 2. Stay able to wear the same pair of pants. Surprisingly succeeded here, although for a little while there, said pants were suffering from a great deal of stress. 3. Run two thousand miles this year. (see...
