Another update.....someday soon I'll get a decent blog in, but today I've still gotta run and get three hours of practice in.
Life is groovy. The money floweth in. Got my AER loan, got part of my back pay as casual pay, and finally got my advance. And after I pay off all the back bills that have built up, that'll leave like at least twenty bucks. (which is my way of telling you I took out the money we talked about, dear)
Regular pay has yet to start, but I'm assured it will begin shortly. In the meantime, I've had a astoundingly mediocre incoming audition, but screw it. The instructor is less than user friendly. I'll work my ass off and I either pass or don't. I'm trying to practice about 40-50 minutes over the required time daily, but I'm kind of behind.
The reason for this being that I spent Friday hurling (including during the command inspection, heh heh......) and Sat morning...erm, switching ends. But not, na more. Which is another reason I'm in a good mood.
Since everything was screwed up at Jackson and MEPS, I don't get to start class until later this month, but in the meantime I'm working up in a instrumental repair shop doing some basic machining type stuff. (And all I had to do was ask about their buffers and lathes. I love metalworking) Working with a marine E-9 Master Gun in there, who by the way is cool as s--t. I love it.
Last night had P.F. Changs and went to Barnes N' Nobles. Today I found a running store. Woot. Time to replace my shoes in a week or two. My Saucony's are up to 400 miles give or take, and I want to break in a new pair before March. Why March? Shamrock Half-marathon in Virginia Beach. There. I got everything in in the twenty minutes I had left. A pox on you, pesky time limit! Love ya, Joy. And my joyous shout-out to the ex-15th (and current) guys wherever you are.
