Quick update, did a 10k at Fort Eustis today, got second in my age group. Okay, it was a small race, but yay me! For those of you who have remained faithful, I've been living in a practice room learning to comp jazz and latin, (all right, I've been taking pop songs and swankifying them for fun too, (richard cheese would be proud) but still....) and I haven't been able to keep up w/ the blogs as well as usual, but I'm still skimming. Keep the faith. That is all. (once again) Spc. NBS Oh ...

Finally got my race in this Sunday at the Killians Shamrock Marathon (I just did the half. (If you're one of those going ummm, it's 13.1 miles) . MMMmmmm victory beer and Irish stew. God bless America and the sponsors from Killian beer. Damn you School of Music stairwells......... After not racing for a year, I got a completely awesome time of 1:42 (chip time, 1:43 gun time), placing me at a grand 444th. That's right. 444. WOOT!!!!!!!!!! I almost feel, I dunno, Kenyan or something............

Five minutes to blog left at lunch....... Update of my massively overdue running accountability. I came up two miles short last week. Bleah, so there. Last week was thirty a week, with a 13.5 mile long run at the end. Down to 173, 174 lbs, and I'm gonna start working out again this week. This week's a rest week, but on an interesting side note, I set a PR (personal record) on my p.t. test, with a 13:48 two miler. I've been down to a 12 and a half, but not while distance running, and nev...

Last week was thirty a week, with a 13.5 mile long run at the end. Down to 173, 174 lbs, and I'm gonna start working out again this week. This week's a rest week, but on an interesting side note, I set a PR (personal record) on my p.t. test, with a 13:48 two miler. Heh heh, I did it. I'm gonna race next month. I'm running in the first ever Killian's Shamrock Half-Marathon in Virginia Beach. (they've had full marathons, but this is the first time they're doing a half with it.) Who gives a crap? This is my first race in over a year, and I'm finally commiting to my milage again. End results are, I've dropped twenty pounds, three belt notches, and I'm back down to about 8:30 minute miles on my long runs. I'm hoping to get this race in under 1:55. I fo...

I love my job.......which is damned weird. Go figure, you spend four or five years (out of six) hating the Army, get out, get forced to come back in, and I'm having a blast. I was definitely in the wrong MOS before. Despite no car, no tv, no life, no wife, I'm having a great time. Not the least of which is my job working in instrument repair. I'm doing simple mechanical type work all day, I get to listen to great music, and I'm working with an E-9, so nobody just walks in and starts dumpin...

Got my AER loan, got part of my back pay as casual pay, and finally got my advance. And after I pay off all the back bills that have built up, that'll leave like at least twenty bucks. (which is my way of telling you I took out the money we talked about, dear) Regular pay has yet to start, but I'm assured it will begin short...
