Now open for conversation, How bad is the worst christmas rush you've experienced this year? Discuss. Talk amongst yourselves. So far, my worst was when I faced the PX and the comissary this morning. (I love you, dear........sigh..........but now you owe me. Even if I did forget the lemon juice.......) At the commissary the grocery checkout line folded the entire length of the front of the store, than wrapped around three outer walls and well into the produce section. Past tale...

Google whacking the net will pull down all kinds of info on the origins of Christmas rites and traditions. For example, you know where the silly hat comes from? During the festival of Saturnalia, a week long Roman New Years party that got incorporated into the church's Christmas parties about, oh, say a little after 221 A.D., there was a Feast of Misrule, in which the masters of the house were the servants, and vice-versa. During that time, it was common for all involved to wear a conical ...

And I'm gonna cry all the way.......to my nice cozy detention center. Heh........... Off to the field for the week. For those of you who are wondering, I pulled my last article, just in case. Beware sports fans, the sun is shining today in Tacoma, so we highly recommend you stay indoors. Don't want to ruin that beautiful catfish belly colored skin. Yum. Slept in this morning to kill as much of the long weekend as possible. Then got up and went for a little 5 mileish run. Whee!!!! I'm giddy on what's that stuff again? Oh yeah, oxygen. They didn't have much of it at a mile up in elevation. Then I followed it up with a nice, healthy six pieces of fried chicken and two dr. peppers ...

Ok, maybe I'll just be in and out. Welcome to Tacoma, where the sun never shines and the children run scared..........It's not a bad place, just wet. According to the oh so wonderful wikipedia, Tacoma is one of the most livable cities in the country, and the most walkable. Also, one of the most stressed out, based off of un-employment, depression, poverty rates, crime, rape, suicide rates, and number of days the sun shines (about 10 minutes total since I've been here.) And just for fun,...
