Some of the military folks on here I worked with will remember it. Ugly. Ughly. Green '92 Voyager minivan I had. Until today. It's gone. It's gone! Hoorah for Dixie! Hoorah!!! erm. yeah.
I sold it today to a nice young Mexican from Matamordos. I only got 400 for it, but who cares? I was starting to think about giving it away. Amazingly, sick or not, I got it together today and fixed everything wrong with that van in a couple of hours. (running wise. It's still as ugly as sin.)
Switched the wheel drum, fixed the timing, and even pulled the fuel rail and replaced all the injectors. I probably didn't have to, but I had the extras off the other engine block, and finding the one bad fuel injector is a pain only to be suffered when you don't have the money to by six at once. Also nicely, he took the bad parts I replaced, excepting the old engine block, which he said he'd come back for.
Overall, I'm sure I lost money on it, (and that's having bartered it for a beat up piano originally) but I used it for what I wanted it for, and had it for a year or so. Plus, given enough Christmas present money, I may even be able to forestall foreclosure on my house by another month. I've missed work sick this week, but just have to have another 200 or so and make a payment by the first. Cool or what?
Next month? Maybe I'll sell a kidney.
