A lightning speed update of my life. Sang in the Messiah Sunday, (saw psuedosoldier and Joy spotted lifehappens). Practicing like a nut, and it's finally coming together nice. Audition's Thursday at 1400 at the 1st Cav band hall.

Fixed a lot of cars lately, including one that got broken into at work. (and what better place than a mechanic's shop, right?) Worked on my transmission last night, everything's back together in the mustang except the starter motor, one exhaust pipe, and the torque converter nuts. (and where exactly did I leave my nuts?)

I think I've solved the missing leak. Now I've just got to figure out the vaccuum issues it's having. For the car illiterate, I'll have to check a couple of hoses for leaks, and adjust a screw a little bit.

One of my best friends deployed to Iraq last night, which was uberly-complicated by the fact that he left some paperwork at the house he had to get. Even better, his wife's purse got stolen today with all of her, and their newborn's ID and credit cards in it. (no the newborn doesn't have a credit card. Yet.) They had all the stuff in there because they'd just enrolled the wee one in Tricare.

The real kicker? This happened at the local library in Cove. The frickin' library. Damned klepto bibliophiles. (actually, my money is they were there to use the free internet access) They've even got it on videotape. Of course that only helps if you know who the people are......

Last but not least, I'm still running regularly, 15 miles last week, shooting for 18 this week. Down six pounds and three quarters of an inch around in a week and a half. In fact I'm about to go running now. While you sit around sipping coffee. Ha! (looks pointedly in the direction of the penguin whackers to the northeast.) Link

And that's all the news that is news about me as far as you're getting today. I've got to move it if I'm going to run and get to work on time. Peace, out.

I very much enjoyed Messiah on Sunday, although I have to admit neither you nor the Lady were my favorite vocalist present. Yes, life was there, and it was to see the two of you, although I'm not sure why she didn't stick around... maybe you all took too long on stage for her tastes.

It was the first time I had seen the Messiah, and I had no idea that you were going to be in it. Seeing your name and your wife's name on the programme made it all the better.

(And I'm sure you were kickass to get alternate soloist... but the bass they had was quite good, and I don't think you should feel bad about them picking him. But I haven't actually heard you sing. Much. Just in the shower.)

(That's too much information, isn't it?)

(Sorry.)

He is good. He's also a frickin' diva. Did you notice he sang a baroque cantata with embellishments in places like it was frickin' Pavarotti doing a Puccini tenor solo? It showed great technique, but was kind of embarassing musically. Like doing Duke Ellington with a Michael Jackson style.

Just in the shower.

True, but I almost never sing opera in the shower........Dr. Demento maybe.

Did you notice he sang a baroque cantata "yadda yadda yadda"

No. No, I didn't.

Dr. Demento maybe.

Dr. Demento, definitely.
