the horror.........the horror........
Woot, 14 days, 4.5 hours left in the Army. Outprocessed CIF (central issue facility) today. For all non-army folks who will undoubtedly be bored to tears by this, I turned in all the thousands of dollars of beat-up crap the Army entrusted to my care. In one go. This is not the norm. I rule.
I showed up at 4 in the morning, and was the first one in line at the gate. Not the first to arrive by a long shot, but the silly bastards didn't want to stand in the rain with all their stuff for some reason, weird right? And my diligence paid off, I only waited in line for 11 hours!
My personal favorite? The sleeping bag lady who averaged about 10 minutes a person for two items. Three hours for that one station. And then she still passed my slightly damp, shouldn't-have-passed inspection bag.
Good deal. I was starting to feel like Milton on office space......."i know we turned in the hood, balaclava, but i kept the old hood, balaclava, it was a red swingline hood, balaclava, and the new one kept jamming.....i'm gonna burn the building down, i could put arsenic in the pina colada......."
Whatever, one step closer to freedom........the good kind, not like the horrible death of William Wallace at the end of Braveheart kind........yeah. Look out Monday, S-1, here I come. Neener neener neener.
