No, really. Has it been 68 days since I posted? Yeeesh.

16 days and a wakeup and I'm free, FREE, FREEEE!!!!!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! In the meantime, I'm hoping tomorrow we'll have a run day for P.T. Yeah. right. Got orders and clearing papers today, and cleared almost everything on post in about two hours.

Tonight and tomorrow, Medal of Honor, and cleaning TA-50 (army issue gear) for turn-in. It's amazing how much killing virtual Nazis will help you deal with that. Patton got it wrong, CIF is hell. Current advice is show up to get in line between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., wait for the line to open, grab one and only one bag then run like hell to get in line. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars, do not get a cart, do not hesitate to push and shove people out of your way.

They've been literally fighting for places in line. Once you've settled your spot, get someone trustworthy to watch your bag and go get the rest of your crap and a cart. It's that bad. I've also been informed by other soldiers getting out that a twenty person difference in line can make a difference of about four or five hours. If you wait all day and fail to get in, If you get in, but fail to get everything accepted in one go.......you get to come back and try again! Bring a thick book, bring water, bring something to eat, bring a shotgun. Wheee!!! Friday is going to a blast.

Other than that, life is grand. It looks very much like I'm going to get to warp the min......I mean, teach music to grade school kids this fall. Frightening for them and me both. Been so long since I posted, God only knows who'll read this. In the mean time....

Yours until all the rivers run dry and the fish flop around in their boxer shorts 'cause there's no more water,

I got there at 0500 and was the 22nd person in line. 0400 should be reasonable. They usually have the carts outside all morning, and there shouldn't be that many people there at 0400. We're on the tail end of the 1 Cav rush, so while there are a lot of horror stories it is getting better. Remember to take your wool sweater. And you might as well go to the PX and buy some new webbing for your helmet, and then install it before you go. Or else the lady will hand you a new webbing and say, "See you tomorrow." And you're turning in 2 duffle bags, so wash those too. I think that's all my advise, but go ahead and ask questions if you have any.
