well look no further......
Tired of Charles Dickens and John Irving? Not in the Mood for Ray Bradbury or Stephen King? Well you're gonna drop your jaws at this little beauty I found on the kcna (official north korean news) website. Link Just look under the Nov. 15th news.
"The Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House brought out Volume 56 of the Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works, a library of the Juche idea which carries famous works of President Kim Il Sung in chronological order. The collection contains 25 works including his speeches, conclusions and talks in the period from November of Juche 63 (1974) to March of Juche 64 (1975)."
Wow! I know what you're thinking! The 56th volume of the "Great Leader"'s manifesto? The power behind the origins of the North Korean communist tyranny? How do I get a hold of that? Why at the Worker's Party of Korea Publishing House, silly. Link
And while you're there, make sure to check out their new line of patriotic posters. How could you fail to get excited by slogans like
"Let us become performers of new miracles and feats and young heroes in building the Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station!"
or
"Let's turn our villages into socialist fairyland where crops are abundant!" calls for sprucing up streets, villages and working sites with ardent patriotism and love for native places."
But wait! It gets even better, check out some of the titles contained in Kim IL Sung's writing!
"The work "Let Us Meet a Revolutionary Upheaval Victoriously by Strengthening the Party, Government Organs and People's Army and Carrying Out Great Socialist Construction More Efficiently" expounded the idea and policy on building up the Korean revolutionary base politically and militarily as firm as a rock and the works "Let Us Promote the Building of Socialism by Vigorously Carrying Out the Three Revolutions", "On Carrying Out the Agricultural Policy of the Partywithout Fail" put forth tasks and ways to step up socialist construction."
Who could fail to get excited by such masterful literary skills? I ask you. I know what book I'm gonna be curled up by the fireplace with on those cold winter nights. Wow!!! This is better than Saddam Hussein's (and I swear he actually did write some) romance novels and musical theater pieces!!!"
