Quiche too, but only if there's dirt in it.

Do you follow the 5 second rule? 30 if no one's looking? Ever eat in the field with the wind blowing dirt in your MRE? Do you quiver in fear that you'll get salmonella if you have a raw egg or trichinosis if your pork's a little pink in the middle? Where do you draw the line?

I'm probably flirting with food poisoning, but I'll eat damned near anything anymore. Food that's sat out for a few hours? Sure. Week old chinese food in the fridge? No prob. Raw squid on a bet? Why not? It's probably gross, and I wouldn't pass any of these off on anyone else, but after kimchi, not much seems scary anymore.

While double dipping doesn't bother me, I won't trash dive, and I generally won't eat anything my cat manages get into when I'm not looking (the sneaky bastard loves pizza.) How far will you go?

(My apologies for all stomachs turned by this article)

If I have recently mopped or food falls on clean carpet, I will eat it (solids, nothing squishy or liquidy) if when I pick it up it has no visible dirt or fuzz stuck to it. I have no problem eating batter or raw dough. I have eaten pizza that has sat out overnight, but I don't think I would do that anymore. I would not do raw-ish pork (I had a very graphic lecture on this when I was in zoology class in college), but the rarer my steak, the better. I also eat salmon nigiri and would eat it as sashimi, too but I like the rice. I've had kimchi that was made in a coke bottle in my science class in high school and that was seriously uncool. I don't mind eating or drinking after family members or good friends.

On a related, but off-topic note, I will not use someone else's deodorant (well, I would use Adrian's in an emergency, but he's the only one) and I'm not into sharing toothbrushes either (though the deodorant rule applies there, too).

I will not go far at all. Stay to the safe but don't be too fetish about it. I have no idea what kimchi is and I am not sure I want to know. I will look it up on google, however. That would be safe.

After eating whatever they gave me in Guatemala, well, I go pretty far. No problem picking it back up and eating it. Just don't let me kids see, then my wife accuses me of teaching them bad habits!

I'm all about the 5-second rule - dog hair and all! It's like Eddie Murphy says. "It's like sprinkles."

In the field, I have dropped and apple in the mud, picked it up, wiped it on my muddy uniform and continued eating. I don't care in the field.

But, in Haiti, we had the 5-inch rule. If it got within 5-inches of the floor, you didn't eat it. Haiti was nasty.

6 years in the navy taught me that food is fuel not some delicasy (sp?). I will eat most anything that doesn't bite back.

Though I do draw the line on stuff that has a high chance of getting me sick such as not fully cooked Chicken, pork etc..... I had a 3 week case of food poisioning that I swear almost killed me one time from Chicken.

Have you ever made a "super dessert" out of your MREs? Thats where you take your cocoa beverage power, peanut butter, and preferbably a cookie(not the pound cake), mix them together in the pouch, add water, and let it heat for a while. Its almost good.

Oh, and I have eaten the Country Captain Chicken and Jamaican pork chop without flinching. Now thats manly. Still can't touch the Jambalaya, though, its completely gross.

Raw hamburger and steak too...

But I get scared and don't eat it much anymore. I don't need to get sick and possibly die from it. Besides, I have to set an example for my kids.

I love cold ravioli right out of the can. Other than that though I'm pretty boring about what I eat.

Oh, hell, don't get me started..... In reality I DO have a story to tell, but it will have to wait until I get my current obsession out of my system.... Sorry!

Cow is supposed to be warmed, not "cooked", at least that's my outlook. I love raw hamburger with a little Accent (MSG).

The old Ham Omelet MRE was perfect for breakfast. Well, not perfect. I could only eat it by tearing a corner on the package and squeezing it into my mouth, pre-dawn, at stand-to. That way I wouldn't accidentally see it. (I know that one book says it's okay, but I'm with Sam I Am.)

And I miss styrofoam fruit.
