Enough with the melancholy already.
Elections are over. Bush won, Kerry lost. And your life is changed..............how exactly?
I'm in the Army, with a war on, and even if Kerry had been elected, and chose to radically change directions in Afghanistan and Iraq, I don't think it would have directly effected any change in my life for a minimum of six months, if not much more. Why are you wasting your time still bemoaning the loss of Kerry and Daschle like they were martyred saving toddlers from a sure demise? Just wait, much as I regret it, liberals will gain office again sometime, I assure you.
And don't think I'm not holding back on you gloaters either. Sure, it felt damned good, but two days is enough. You're not helping anyone by pissing off the liberals either. I don't expect partison differences to be resolved, and I'm okay you're okay feelings to abound, but why are you wasting your time over something that's already done?
For better, or for worse, there won't even be a senate race for two more years. If you want to do something in politics, liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat, Spongebob or Southpark, get out and do it. Start now. You're stuck with who you've got, so work with it.
Don't just let your life stop with the elections, or pass from crisis to crisis. Move on. If you think the war is the worst thing to this country since Milli Vanilli, protest, write your senator, do something. If you think George W. is better than Crispy Creme and Dr. Pepper, and that he's dead on target in the moral issues, do your best to support him, but do it by being active.
This group isn't going away for awhile. So, as Roosevelt (at least according to one of my Calvin and Hobbes selections) said it best, "Do the best you can, with what you have, where you are."
