NPR probably wouldn't play this blog........
Twas the night fore elections and all through the states,
Voters sharpen their pencils, practice chad poking, wait.
And thousands of republicans all snug in their beds,
With visions of tax cuts dancing o'er their heads.
And Ma and her stocking and I in my cap,
Voted early this year, I don't need extra crap.
When out on the campaign there arose such a clatter,
I turned on the ads to see what was the matter.
I dashed to the Tv, there was a big splash,
The candidates were sprinting, with grace and panache,
When Kerry through some mud, missing explosives it seems,
And Bush called him a pansy, with a mad ketchup queen.
Kerry said "you're a warmonger!", and then he attacked,
Bush replied "Just hold still, I'll do you like Iraq."
On abortion, on gay marraige, on changing your vote,
on defense, on service records, on guns that you tote,
The fought o'er the issues, and man it got lame,
They ran out of words, so they called each other names.
Then what to my wondering eyes should appear,
Republican Bob Dole, with a case full of beer!
He had deep brown eyes, with a glint that was merry,
And he shook when he laughed like that fat guy drew carrey.
He said, "Now boys, you two play nice."
"And I know you don't want it,
but here's some advice."
You've both sold your souls, You're political asses,
And you both see the world through colon colored glasses."
Then I heard him exclaim as he rose out of sight,
"I hope you both lose, McCain's dynamite!"
Actually, I'm pro-bush, but I hadn't written any crappy poetry in a couple of days, and it seemed to fit so nice.
Go vote tomorrow!!!"
