Snow??? In September??? wtf???

That aside, all is......not well exactly, but moving along. I know more about what's going on now, got to see a LOT of country on the drive up, and am now entering the second week of training as a "hick" (human intelligence collector). Today was the land nav course; woot! Soon to start secret squirrel type stuff. Also woot.

I miss my wife, my cats, and my Mustang.....in that order. And just because cross-stitch wasn't girly enough, I've also taken up knitting. Sort of. Badly. Sigh.....

It's fun so far, but I still suck at the basics. I'd show pictures, but practice swaths are about as exiting as old tile grout. Old ugly tile grout. Old ugly tile grout in the background of the Home Shopping Network. That kind of boring. Maybe when I make my first afghan........

It is absolutely beautiful up here. If you've got to drive through Utah, I especially recommend taking 89. Wow! Mountains, snow, trees, that kind of thing. (and also killer deer, thorn trees, and Cujo bunnies on the land nav course). (If you don't know what a Cujo bunny is, think Holy Grail, but brown.......)

I finally have internet access again, so more to follow. Film at eleven.

Highway 89 runs the entire length of our lovely state. It cuts through most of the cities along the Wasatch front. Amazing 2 day drive on a motorcycle.

And if you think the cujo bunnies are bad, stay away from the Jackalopes.

Dude, you're a HIC? Did they make you grow a bad 70's porn moustache (so that you could double for a guy in an old Western)? I have it on good authority that this is in the rules. There's a HIC in my BNCOC class, but he shaved his when he left the reservation. It's still on his ID card, though.

Came up through the Grand Canyon, and saw it for the lower third or so before cutting over to 15. Especially gorgeous around Mt. Carmel and north of there.

Not yet, but I haven't had a haircut in three weeks, and they're still bitching that my hair looks too military. Oh yeah, and a month of the course is in civies. Woot!!!!!

Will they scare away cujo bunnies? (I think they're the same as jackalopes, just with, and I quote "nasty pointy sharp teeth!!! yarghhhhh")
