And who better to have it for???

I've had an idea kicking around in my head for awhile, and thought I'd bounce it off of you guys.

I was thinking about a book on suicide. Not one of those cutsey little self-help/prevention books though. More like one of the for Dummies or Idiot's Guide books, although I definitely don't want to make it a how to book.

I was thinking more along the lines of writing about it historically, trivia, various methods, anecdotal tales, suicide in pop culture, assisted suicide, even a section of suicide jokes. Basically, I'd like to fill it full of the interesting little details you get in some of those types of books. Maybe even a section on Darwin award type accidental deaths, sort of the suicidal equivalent of manslaughter.

It's morbid, but I know I'd like to read that sort of thing. And statistically, most people go through at least a suicidal phase at some point, so Lord knows there'd be an interest.

One thing's for sure. It'd need a good title, and one hell of a legal disclaimer.......What do you think?

Something similar has already been done. I checked it out from the library but never finished it - it was too depressing. Surprise, Surprise right?

Cute subtitle! I don't know if I would read it, but that's just me. I was about to tell you that you're on your own on this one. Good thing you already got a heads up!

Are you at the 97E AIT? Do you know if you are allowed to live off post if you are TDY to the 97E to reclass? You are so funny...if the AIT doesn't work out you could try stand-up comedy:)

Yes I'm here for 97E. (if I can ever get in the damned class) I'm PCSed, but all the TDY reclass guys in our company were allowed to live off post to my knowledge. If it wasn't in their orders, they arranged for them to get it from their units by getting a statement of nonavailability of quarters.

I don't know if that applies for the other company here though.

If they were TDY and got that statement, they'd still have to do the paperwork for amending the TDY orders. But if the command was behind it, it probably went (relatively) smoothly.
