Welcome back to MI!!!

Or in the words of the worst end to a trilogy outside of a George Lucas film, "Everytime I think I'm out..............."

If you missed my short lived rant in my last article, I am now a failure as a musician. Woot. End result? Washed out of the School of Music, you know the stuff, but you need experience. Try to get some on the job training for a year or so and come back and you should ace it............

Right. And we need you to come in on a Saturday.........that'd be great.........

So after carefully considering the choices of six thousand kinds of mechanic (not that I don't love that stuff, it's the 18 hr days I mind), fueler, infantry, and 88M (a cross between a truck driver and village idiot, the only job I know where the Army regularly waives it's minimum intelligence score for), I went back to my old bad habits and went MI.

(I was sorely tempted to go combat arms though, maybe I just felt like killing something.)

Sadly, my old MOS is full to the bursting point, and I couldn't switch languages because I'd have to be able to reclass back to my old MOS first to be allowed to extend for enough contract time to go back and learn Arabic/Farsi/whatever.

So it's on to beautiful scenic Ft. Huachuca again, for my third round of AIT as a human intelligence collector (and now featuring elements of counter-intelligence!), 97E. So far I've hit .500, and I figure third AIT's the charm, right?

I know, "wow, he's sunk low enough to go back to M.I.", there's more. I'm giving serious thought to putting in a packet for OCS when I finish up there. I might not be a good officer, but I'd be a great 2nd lieutenant..........

I guess the real question is, will I still be in Arizona for the P.F. Chang Rock N Roll Marathon? Enquiring minds want to know. Current racing update is I did the "Rudy Run"/Seal Challenge last weekend. It was 5 miles of cross country, plus obstacles like mud pits, creeks, sand dunes, running in the surf, logs from knee high to waist high, tires, low crawl, pull ups, etc.........

I came in 73rd at 40:18. For all of you Navy Seals I outran, I laugh in your general direction. After all, I run faster, and if I ever am misfortunate enough to get in a fight with one, that's definitely what will make the difference.

"Running away is a valid form of self-defense." SPC Ray (he doesn't have a last name)

Anyways... You gonna be there in September so I can bend propriety and buy you a drink? I'm certain I'm not supposed to hang out with you AIT-ers, but it might be worth the risk.

Should be. Also think we're safe on the no-frat front since I'm MOS-T, unless of course you're teaching the course...........

No Old Crow.

Wow, dude. What a shocker. I can't believe you got dumped from music school. But then to return to MI... wow, dude.

Apparently they're going with your previous language, since you're not in Monterey again learning Urdu or something. If you were at DLI, I would take you out for a drink as I will be there TDY in late July. But I'm not going there via Sierra Vista, sorry.

How are points for 97EKP? Better than for 98GKP?

I know HUMINT isn't Fort Meade's bag, but if you get east coast-y drop me a line.

"Running away is a valid form of self-defense."

It appears our good Benjamin has mastered the art of running away.

Wasn't even an issue. Don't have to have a language anymore........sigh.

Infinitely. (part of the reason I chose it as one of my options)

It appears our good Benjamin has mastered the art of running away.

Always take life advice from monte python......"run away! run away!!!!"........and, "bring me a bucket."
