A semi-limerick review.

Another short limerick review,
And not of a movie that blew,
The movie's just right,
I watched in delight,
And to C.S. Lewis was true.

Meh. Not my best limerick review. Personally I think the one for the Village was. Anyways, "stayed home" sick today, and went to see Narnia. (I really was sick, I'm just lousy at staying home.)

Perfection. Amazing really, almost just as I'd imagined it. I usually can't abide a movie made from the book. Not even if it does have hobbits in it. (I cringe every time I see them casting a ring, and calling it forging.) The costumes were great, the scenery was great, the CGI was fantastic, and I truly hate CGI most of the time. The only negative thing I can think of was that the villains were so cool, I like them almost as much as the "good guys." They didn't mess up the script at all.

If you do have young'uns though, be prepared, the movie does have some dark bits. Nothing they can't handle, but they go on for awhile. Who knew? Disney actually made a movie that's a christian allegory, written by one of the greatest theologians in the 20th century and didn't fiddle with it and mess it up. Wow.

My wife and I went to see it that past weekend and left the theater very, very impressed. It was an excellent movie. I agree with you, they did a great job with it.
