It's on for tommorow, going to N.O. Hopefully in and out in one day, but who knows? Here's an interesting email I sent today.

You've probably got most or all of this covered, but here's what I thought of anyways. Probably won't need most of it, but better safe than sorry.

Food - I got 4 M.R.E.s but I don't know if you can eat them.

Water - Water. Camel Backs would be a good idea if you've got them. I've also got a couple of canteens, but honestly, they taste terrible.

Bleach - the instant non-bacterial water fixer. Last resort though since it doesn't remove chemicals.

Fuel - I don't know how much gas will be available in Baton Rouge or what have you, so we may need more than we thought?

Weapons - Guns? I've got a combat knife, a couple of machetes, and a baton. I've also got a modified bat, but I'm not sure that it's legal.

Tools - D----'s supposed to have it covered, right? I'm still planning on bringing a shovel, ax, saw, and maybe a few basics.

Moving supplies - totes, boxes, tarps? Rope, definitely plenty of rope. Plenty of tape, duct or 90 mph tape

Clothes - I'm bringing at least one more set, just in case and an extra set of boots.

Other stuff

Copious quantity of cash
Spare tire/wheel for B----'s car if possible. You've got a full size spare, right? Also, how much gas did she have in it?
First aid kit - plus medicines
Washcloth
Old t-shirts or towels that can be used as rags/bandages
Surgical tubing or rubber automotive tubing
Rope
Short entrenching shovel if you've got one
Toilet paper, sealed in ziplock.
Flashlight
Batteries
Lantern, and extra fuel
Lighter
Chem lights (I've got seven or eight)
Person to Person radios. If you've got something that has some decent distance that's good, I also doubt cell towers will be working well if at all. Even short range is gonna have a lot of FEMA and police crap on it, and interference from all that water.
Good map, laminated if possible.
GPS device if you've already got one. Compass?
Pillow
Hatchet
2 wheel Dolly
Flares?
Do you have a small siphon pump?
Jumper cables
Bungee cords or rubber straps

I'm also bringing a 5 gallon bucket (I'll put some of the tools in it), and a duffel, plus my ruck. That's about all I can think of for now. I know it's a little crazy, but I believe in hoping for rabbit and loading for bear. Meh. Talk to ya later.
Love,
B--.

A lot of it, like the food, guns, water are abbreviated because we talked about them earlier. Anyone got any ideas or think of anything else?

And by tommorow, apparently I mean in about an hour now. Time change. They're letting people in for what amounts to a day and a half starting at six a.m. and ending six p.m. the next day, with a 12 hour curfew in between according to the police we talked to. So off we go for an early start. See ya'll in a day or two.

Wow, that's alot of gear. Some of it is what I put on my list for the 72-hour survival kit. Thanks for some more ideas.

Good luck.

Good On Ya for heading down there to help! Good Luck!!!

I'll have you know, I'm probably one of the few people who are jealous that you will be there and I can't.

Do a great job, take care and God Bless You!!

Looking forward to your reports when you get back.
